Kelly Khumalo fights for Senzo Meyiwa's insurance millions

Afro Pop star Kelly Khumalo has put on her gloves, apparently prepared to fight for Senzo Meyiwa's insurance millions. I'm guessing "this is for our baby" would be her motivational words inside. You do your thing girl, the child deserves it hey? more after the cut...

Sunday World learned that Khumalo begged her producer Sello "Chicco" Twala to help her get a lawyer to claim her share of Meyiwa's life cover insurance millions.
Khumalo learned through the media that there was about R5-million the Meyiwas were set to receive from a life insurance policy taken out by his club Orlando Pirates through the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and administered by Delphisure Group Insurance.
Khumalo has a one-year-old daughter with the late Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalie who was gunned down at the songbird's family home in Vosloorus, on the East Rand, last year

Twala referred us to his lawyer Ali Makitla, who confirmed that they will be representing Khumalo in the matter.
"We will be meeting with her during the week to take proper instructions," he said.
A source close to Khumalo said the Qinisela hitmaker initially decided to not claim a cent from Meyiwa's estate.

This after a protracted public spat with the footie's father Sam Meyiwa that resulted in him banning her from the late footballer's funeral.
"She took a decision to not claim a cent for her child after how she was treated by this old man because he created an impression that she did not love Senzo but was only interested in his money," said the source.

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, also said Khumalo changed her mind this week after her associates advised her otherwise.
"They told her that the money was not for her but for her child and that she must do what is best for her child. She then phoned Chicco who then hooked her up with his lawyers," said the source.
The source said Khumalo was never contacted or updated on the progress of the executing of Meyiwa's estate but never bothered to follow up as she did not want to be seen as a gold digger.

"Nobody said anything to her. She was in the dark but she chose not say anything about it because she does not want to create an impression that she is a gold digger.
"That's the other side of Kelly which you don't know," said the source.
Another source, who has the knowledge about the situation, said Khumalo was supposed to have been informed of the lawyers administering the trust account so that she could furnish them with whatever documents they would need to make provision for the child.
"It creates an impression that something wrong is going on," said the source.

Orlando Pirates spokesperson Floyd Mbele referred questions to PSL COO Ronnie Schloss.
"As the club we don't even know who is responsible for winding down the estate so Professor Ronnie Schloss is better placed to answer that question," said Mbele.
Schloss said the PSL too did not know who the executors of the estate were but said they sent all the necessary documents to the insurance company.

"All the documents have been sent to them and they will sent us proof of payment.
"But we don't know who is involved," he said.
Attempts to solicit comment from Meyiwa Snr drew a blank as his phone was off.
